HTH SPA Alkanal Alkalinity Increaser is used for raising the Total Alkalinity levels in your swimming pool or hot tub spa. Having the correct Total Alkalinity levels in the water is important as low Total Alkalinity levels will cause added chemicals to make the pH level in the water fluctuate dramatically.

Total Alkalinity is simply the measure of carbonates & bicarbonates in the water. Ensuring it is correct will reduce pH fluctuations, called pH Bounce.

Instructions To Correct Low Alkalinity Levels in Swimming Pools & Hot Tub Spas using HTH SPA Alkanal Alkalinity Increaser

Calculate your pool or spa water volume, if in doubt call us and we can advise you.

Test your water using your usual testing method. If it is lower than 100ppm you will need to raise it. The ideal Total Alkalinity in your hot tub spa is between 80-150mg/l.

For Small Pools, dissolve the amount suggested on the label of HTH SPA Alkanal Alkalinity Increaser, per 1000 litres, in a 10 litre bucket. Do not dissolve more than 500g at any one time. If more than 500g is required repeat the process.

With the pumps running pour the mixture evenly around the pool, but not into the skimmers.

To increase the Total Alkalinity in Hot Tub Spas, dose 17g of HTH SPA Alkanal per 1000 litres straight into the spa, with the jets and pumps running.

Leave the filtration running and re-check the pH levels after 24 hours. If the level is still required re-dose with HTH SPA Alkanal Alkalinity Increaser
